My-husband-and-I-work-from-home-and-try-to.jpeg

My husband and I work from home and try to follow a nutritious diet. Here are 10 of our favorite groceries to buy at Aldi.

  • As empty nesters who work from home, my husband and I love shopping at Aldi.
  • The Elevation energy bars and Summit Popz prebiotic sodas are good substitutes for pricier brands.
  • I love snacking on the Simply Nature coconut clusters and Southern Grove trail mix.

As empty nesters who both work from home, my husband and I try our best to choose nutritious food options while keeping our grocery costs low.

Luckily, shopping at Aldi helps us achieve both of these goals. Here are some of our favorite products to buy.

My husband enjoys the peanut butter Elevation energy bars.

Elevation energy bars are a great afternoon pick-me-up.

Amy Barnes

My husband recently stopped buying Clif Bars and replaced them with the more budget-friendly Elevation energy bars from Aldi.

These come out to just about $1 per bar, and he says the taste and texture are great.

He likes to enjoy them as a snack or an afternoon pick-me-up.

I love snacking on the Simply Nature coconut clusters.

The Simply Nature coconut clusters are made with pumpkin, sunflower, and hemp seeds.

Amy Barnes

The Simply Nature coconut clusters satisfy my sweet tooth, with only 160 calories per serving.

These crunchy clusters are made with a mix of pumpkin, sunflower, and hemp seeds.

Southern Grove trail mix is great for when I’m hiking.

Boxes of Southern Grove trail mix on display at Aldi.

This Southern Grove trail mix is made with cranberries, sunflower kernels, almonds, edamame, chocolate, and peanuts.

Amy Barnes

Whenever I head to Aldi, I like to grab snack-size portions of trail mix. I especially love the Southern Grove version because it doesn’t include raisins.

Packed with cranberries, sunflower kernels, almonds, edamame, chocolate, and peanuts, this mix is easy to snack on at home or when we’re hiking with our dog.

I prefer Aldi’s egg bites to the Starbucks version.

Boxes of Whole & Simple omelet breakfast bites on display at Aldi.

The Whole & Simple egg bites are easy to heat up in the morning.

Amy Barnes

I’m always hunting for delicious protein options to start my day, and I often find myself craving the egg bites from Starbucks. However, my wallet doesn’t love them as much as I do.

So, I’ve switched to Aldi’s Whole & Simple version, made with bell peppers, uncured ham, and cheddar. I think they taste similar to the Starbucks version and they’re easy to heat up at home.

We love the Happy Farms spreadable cheese wedges.

Containers of Happy Farms spreadable cheeses on display at Aldi.

There are lots of different varieties of Happy Farms spreadable cheese.

Amy Barnes

Since we both work from home, my husband and I are always looking for quick lunch options. We like the Happy Farms spreadable cheese wedges, which cost less than $3 each, and taste great on their own or in wraps.

Simply Nature popcorn is great for movie night.

Bags of Simply Nature popcorn on display at Aldi.

Each cup of Simply Nature sea-salt popcorn contains 35 calories.

Amy Barnes

At only 35 calories per cup, I like to have Simply Nature popcorn with my lunch or as a movie-watching snack when the kids come back home. It’s also a good source of fiber and is gluten-free.

Aldi’s steamed vegetable medleys make dinner easy.

Bags of steamed vegetables on display at Aldi.

I love the Season’s Choice Asian-seasoned vegetable medley.

Amy Barnes

Whenever I take a trip to Aldi, I look for the Season’s Choice steamed vegetable medleys. These bags of brightly-colored veggies are reasonably priced and easy to make.

I like to season my veggies with Burman’s stir-fry sauces.

Bottles of Burman's sweet and sour stir-fry sauce on display at Aldi.

Burman’s stir-fry sauces are a great way to add flavor to steamed vegetables.

Amy Barnes

Instead of ordering take-out, I like to season my steamed vegetables with Burman’s orange or sweet and sour sauces. I just add some chicken to create an easy stir-fry meal.

Aldi sells a great substitute for brand-name probiotic sodas.

Cans of Summit Popz prebiotic soda on display at Aldi.

I love the Summit Popz prebiotic sodas.

Amy Barnes

Staying hydrated while working from home is a necessity, and I love sipping on the Summit Popz prebiotic sodas. I think they’re a great alternative to the more expensive Poppi sodas.

Rivian-CEO-says-it-may-be-inconceivable-to-buy-a.jpeg

Rivian CEO says it may be ‘inconceivable’ to buy a car that can’t drive itself by 2030

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe said self-driving capabilities will be a “must-have” in a car in the “very near future.”

Speaking on a “No Priors” podcast interview, released on Thursday, Scaringe talked about how autonomous cars would become the norm by the end of the decade.

“I think by 2030 it’ll be inconceivable to buy a car and not expect it to drive itself,” Scaringe said. “Maybe that’s sooner. We hope it’s sooner, we’re targeting a little sooner than that.”

He added that today, it is hard to imagine buying a car without airbags or air conditioning, which “at one moment in time were optional.”

“I think in not too much time, a couple of years, it’ll be hard to conceive of buying a car that can’t drop you at the airport or pick up your kids from school,” Scaringe said.

Scaringe previously said that, beyond just being able to drive themselves, autonomous vehicles should progress to a point where they can run errands, such as getting items from the store or ordering spare car parts.

Rivian is one of the handful of US-based automakers making inroads into the self-driving vehicle space, along with Tesla, Alphabet’s Waymo, and Ford. They face strong competition in markets outside the US, where Chinese competitors like BYD, XPeng, and Baidu have gained market share.

Rivian, based in Irvine, California, is expected to start delivering its R2 SUV later in the year. This model is its cheapest EV to date, priced at $45,000.

Rivian released earnings on Thursday, reporting a full-year 2025 revenue of $5.39 billion, which was an 8% increase from 2024. The company said in the earnings report that it had delivered 42,247 vehicles to customers in 2025.

The company’s stock price dropped 5% after earnings but rose about 15% in after-hours trading. It’s up about 12% in the past year.

Elon Musk says money can’t buy happiness. Research suggests it can — up to a point.

Elon Musk wants you to know that the money hasn’t made him happy.

“Whoever said ‘money can’t buy happiness’ really knew what they were talking about,” Elon Musk wrote in a post on X on Thursday with a sad-face emoji.

The SpaceX and Tesla CEO is by far the richest person in the world. Per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, he is worth $668 billion. The second-richest person in the world, Larry Page, is worth $285 billion.

Musk’s wealth has soared by $49 billion since the start of the year, buoyed by SpaceX’s high valuation and news of its merger with his AI startup, XAI.

So, is Musk right or wrong that money can’t buy you happiness?

Studies show that money does bring happiness, but there could be a limit for the ultrawealthy.

David Bartram, an associate professor of sociology at the University of Leicester, told Business Insider that while wealth and happiness are linked, “It’s very much a matter of ‘diminishing returns.'”

“Once you’ve got a few million, anything extra is meaningless for happiness,” he said.

Bartram said for the very wealthy, “happiness is probably best achieved by having a sense that you’ve done some good in the world, and that you’ve treated people around you with care and kindness. It’s not exactly rocket science.”

A 2021 study by Matthew Killingsworth, a senior fellow at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, found that happiness and feelings of well-being increased in tandem with a person’s rising income.

However, the amount of money needed for happiness becomes an exponentially moving goalpost, Killingsworth concluded in a 2024 paper.

While the data he analyzed did not examine what millionaires or billionaires are experiencing, Killingsworth said it was “plausible” that the pattern would continue among the world’s wealthiest.

Musk discussed the relationship between happiness and wealth in a recent conversation with Nikhil Kamath on the “People by WTF” podcast.

“Aim to make more than you take. Be a net contributor to society,” Musk said in November.

“It’s kind of like the pursuit of happiness. You know, if you want to create something valuable financially, you don’t pursue that. It’s best to actually pursue providing useful products and services. If you do that, then money will come as a natural consequence, as opposed to pursuing money directly,” he added.

How much are AC/DC tickets?

If you missed the original AC/DC ticket on the primary market, resale platforms like Vivid Seats and StubHub are likely where you’ll find seats for the Power Up Tour 2026 — but prices can vary widely based on venue, demand, and how close you want to be to the action. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest resale options for stadium shows often start at $90 to $115, giving fans on a budget a chance to catch classics like “Back in Black” and “Highway to Hell” live. These lower‑priced tickets are usually in upper levels or less sought‑after sections, ideal if you’re happy with a broader view of the stage.

At the other end of the spectrum, premium seats and closer views can push prices substantially higher as demand picks up — especially for dates in major markets like Toronto, Montreal, and Las Vegas. On StubHub, resale listings in those desirable areas can climb into the several hundreds of dollars for floor or lower‑bowl seats, and VIP options or meet‑and‑greet packages (when available) may cost even more. Throughout the cycle, both StubHub’s FanProtect Guarantee and Vivid Seats’ 100% Buyer Guarantee give shoppers confidence that their purchase is legitimate and will arrive in time for the show — a key consideration when buying resale tickets.

How much are Yungblud tickets?

If you’re looking to catch Yungblud’s Idols — The World Tour live, resale ticket sites like StubHub and Vivid Seats are go‑to spots when primary tickets sell out — and the good news is there’s a pretty wide range of prices for fans on different budgets to find something. Over on Vivid Seats, you’ll see some of the cheapest resale tickets starting around the high‑$60s for 2026 shows, making it one of the more affordable ways to get in the door if you’re willing to sit farther back or grab general admission.

StubHub also has plenty of listings, with budget‑friendly seats typically starting in the low‑to‑mid‑$100s and rising from there for better views. Some premium listings — especially floor seats, front‑section options, or VIP packages — can climb into the several hundred-dollar range, depending on how hot a particular city or date is.

Both StubHub and Vivid Seats back their sales with buyer protections (StubHub’s FanProtect Guarantee and Vivid Seats’ delivery guarantee), so you’re generally buying from a legitimate, verified marketplace rather than risking shady or invalid tickets — just be mindful that resale prices often run above face value as demand grows closer to showtime.

BTS 2026-2027 world tour: Full schedule and where to buy tickets

After nearly four years away from full‑group performances due to South Korea’s mandatory military service, BTS is returning in a big way with a massive 2026-2027 world tour — their first major global trek since 2022. Their devoted fan base, known as ARMY, has helped BTS become one of the highest‑earning and most-streamed artists worldwide.

Browse BTS tickets on StubHub and Vivid Seats.

How much are BTS tickets?

If you’re eyeing resale tickets for BTS’ 2026 and 2027 World Tour, StubHub and Vivid Seats are two of the most popular places fans turn when primary sales sell out. On Vivid Seats, current listings for BTS concerts show a wide pricing spectrum, with more affordable seats often starting in the $600‑plus range for upper‑level sections at stadium shows, while premium floor or VIP packages can climb significantly higher depending on demand and location. These prices reflect both the immense global popularity of BTS and the fierce competition among buyers looking for seats to the World Tour.

StubHub similarly offers a range of resale options and, very importantly, provides a FanProtect Guarantee that helps ensure tickets are legitimate and will be delivered in time for the event or replaced if problems arise. While resale costs can run well above face value (sometimes into the thousands for premium listings), StubHub’s buyer protections make it one of the more trusted resale platforms among concertgoers; many fans use it specifically for large tours where official inventory is limited.

Eric Clapton 2026 tour: Full schedule, venues, and where to buy tickets

Rock and blues icon Eric Clapton has confirmed a 2026 European tour, celebrating more than six decades as one of music’s most influential guitarists and songwriters. The initial run of dates kicks off in April 2026 in Amsterdam and takes Clapton to major arenas across Belgium, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Spain, and Germany, before concluding with a special performance in the United Kingdom. If you’re ready to see him live, I’ve broken down how to get Eric Clapton tickets below.

Clapton’s influence dates back to the early 1960s, when he first gained attention as a guitarist with The Yardbirds before moving on to play powerful blues and rock with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, and Derek and the Dominos. As a solo artist, he has released beloved classics such as “Layla,” “Wonderful Tonight,” and “Tears in Heaven,” and his 1992 Unplugged album became one of the best-selling live records of its time. Clapton is also the only artist inducted three times into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — as a member of the Yardbirds, Cream, and as a solo performer — underscoring his enduring legacy in rock history.

Despite health challenges later in life, Clapton continues to tour and connect with fans around the world, making his 2026 dates a rare and special opportunity to experience a living legend performing decades’ worth of unforgettable music live onstage. Find tickets now on StubHub and Vivid Seats, and keep reading to find his 2026 tour lineup.

Eric Clapton’s 2026 tour schedule

Demand for applause‑worthy tickets is strong, as fans of all ages seek to see Clapton perform classics alongside his deep blues‑based catalog. Resale platforms like StubHub and Vivid Seats list tickets for select stops, though prices can vary widely depending on city, seat location, and market demand.

  • April 24, 2026 — Amsterdam, Netherlands at Ziggo Dome

How much are Eric Clapton tickets?

When shopping for resale tickets to Eric Clapton’s 2026 concerts, prices can vary significantly depending on the city, venue, and seat quality. On Vivid Seats, listings for Clapton’s European tour dates (such as shows in Madrid, Barcelona, Mannheim, Cologne, and Munich) typically show some of the lowest resale tickets starting in the low‑to‑mid‑$300s, with entry prices around $351 for Barcelona and about $537 for Madrid — a reliable baseline for fans looking for standard seating. Premium seats with closer views or VIP benefits naturally command higher prices, and cities with strong demand may push listings above these entry points.

On StubHub, while specific current listings fluctuate with supply and demand, the platform’s FanProtect Guarantee ensures buyers receive valid tickets or suitable replacements, which adds peace of mind when comparing prices. Because Clapton’s tours are relatively limited and demand for classic rock performances remains high, premium resale tickets — especially front‑row or floor sections — can climb well into the high hundreds or over $1,000 depending on the market and venue size. Some resale trackers also show base ticket prices for European dates starting around $163 in Amsterdam and rising to $522 or more in cities like Munich, illustrating how location and date influence resale values.

Overall, fans can expect resale ticket prices to range from several hundred dollars at the low end to high-value premium seats that push into the four figures, especially as shows sell out and inventory becomes tight. Comparing listings on multiple sites early — and moving quickly when prices dip — can help you find the best deals for Clapton’s 2026 shows.

How much are Ed Sheeran tickets?

If you’re browsing resale marketplaces for Ed Sheeran’s 2026 LOOP Tour tickets, prices on StubHub and Vivid Seats can vary significantly depending on city, venue, and seat quality. On Vivid Seats, fans can often find some of the lowest resale listings starting around $70–$90 for upper-level or less in-demand seats at U.S. stadium shows, such as Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta or Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. These lower‑tier listings provide one of the more affordable ways to see Sheeran live after primary ticket sales sell out.

StubHub similarly offers a range of entry-level resale options, often in the same price range as Vivid Seats. Because StubHub’s marketplace is backed by its FanProtect Guarantee, buyers can shop with confidence that they’ll receive valid tickets or a comparable replacement. At the opposite end of the spectrum, premium seats, like lower‑bowl sections, front‑row views, or VIP packages, can fetch several hundred dollars and even exceed $1,000 on resale, especially for high‑demand stops such as Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium or shows in major media markets.

Overall, standard resale ticket prices for Ed Sheeran’s 2026 tour typically range from around $70 to $100 for the most affordable seats, up into the low to mid hundreds for better viewing sections, with premium listings and VIP experiences climbing well beyond that, based on demand and location.

How to buy gold, silver, and other precious metals from Costco online and in-store

Two dozen eggs, a gallon of milk, 30 rolls of toilet paper — and one ounce of 24 karat gold.

While that might be one of the more expensive grocery runs a Costco shopper might make, it is one that could realistically happen.

Costco sells hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of gold and silver each month. There are two ways to buy bars and coins from the wholesale club: online and in-store at certain warehouses. Here’s what that looks like.

The first step — step zero, if you will — is to get a Costco membership, since precious metals are exclusively available to members. The basic Gold Star membership gives you access, but if you’re planning to spend several thousand dollars on gold and silver, it might make sense to spring for the executive upgrade.

For the additional $65, executive members get 2% rewards on most purchases, including precious metals. At the recent price of about $4,480, the reward on a one-ounce gold bar or coin would be around $89, which is more than the price of an upgrade. (Executive members can also shop early at the warehouse, but that’s another story.)

Equipped with a membership, the options to buy precious metals depend largely on the availability of supply.

How to buy gold and silver from Costco online

Gold, silver, and platinum are listed on Costco.com on a precious metals page in the jewelry and watches category. (The items were previously listed under sports memorabilia and collectibles, which made them a bit harder for the casual buyer to track down.)

When products are priced at or near the commodity market’s “spot” price, they can sell out extremely quickly.

Silver also tends to sell out quickly and follows a similar pricing pattern. In fact, silver’s market rally of more than 130% year-to-date as of Tuesday morning has outpaced gold’s nearly 70% increase. Plus, silver’s lower unit price — it’s at an all-time high of $69 per ounce — means more options for shoppers who are curious about buying metals but don’t want to fork over the price of a well-used car just yet.

Costco has responded to fluctuations in demand by limiting the quantities of a particular item a member is allowed to purchase in one transaction and over a 24-hour period.

Once an online purchase is completed, Costco estimates about three to five days for delivery, typically via UPS or FedEx. Same-day grocery orders must be placed separately, via Instacart.

Comments on the CostcoPM subreddit indicate that some packages can take longer to deliver, especially around periods of high demand and near the end of the week.

How to buy gold and silver at a Costco warehouse

Precious metals are also occasionally available at some warehouses — if you know where to look.

Sometimes it’s easier to spot: the store will put a large sign near the entrance encouraging arriving shoppers to check out seasonal or specialty bars. Some stores will let you know what they have in stock if you call ahead.

At other times, a sample of the available inventory will be displayed in the warehouse’s jewelry case near the electronics section.

Still, it’s not as simple as tossing a bar into your cart and proceeding to checkout. The jewelry case also has a stack of paper forms that shoppers must fill out with the item SKU and the quantity they wish to purchase.

Shoppers then bring the completed slip to the front office, where an employee will retrieve the order and assist with payment. Voila — they now own a small slab of expensive metal. Don’t lose it.

3 things Costco shoppers should know before buying gold or silver

There are three last things Costco shoppers should note.

Although Costco stands behind everything it sells, precious metals are excluded from the company’s unusually generous return policy. It also will not adjust the price of gold, silver, or platinum after purchase. Once the deal is done, that’s it.

The second thing is that it generally does not make mathematical sense to finance gold or silver purchases with credit card debt or other interest-bearing payment options.

While some metals buyers use credit cards in order to take advantage of rewards schemes, it’s widely understood that any balance should be promptly paid off with cash, since interest charges can offset any card points or increase in the metal’s value.

Lastly, some gold and silver buyers have found that selling metals can be harder than buying them (at least at the prices they would prefer). Coin shops are not likely to offer the full spot price for gold or silver, since they need to leave room to make a profit when they sell the metal.

Metals dealers and advisors generally recommend planning to hold onto physical precious metals for the long term. Selling without a strategy can have unexpected costs.

Paramount-wanted-to-use-24-billion-in-Middle-Eastern-money.jpeg

Paramount wanted to use $24 billion in Middle Eastern money to help buy WBD. That’s not why Netflix won.

Larry and David Ellison, who own Paramount, want to use $24 billion in Middle Eastern money to finance their bid for Warner Bros. Discovery. Is that a problem for WBD?

You might think so — especially since $10 billion of that came from the Saudi government. That’s the same government that US intelligence said killed a Washington Post journalist in 2018. The kind of partner you might think a major American media conglomerate would want to keep at arm’s length.

But that’s not a problem WBD raises in its newest communication to shareholders, where it urges them to take the deal offered by Netflix instead.

What actually worries WBD about the Ellisons’ bid isn’t the Ellisons’ particular partners. It’s that the Ellisons had partners.

In a regulatory filing that tells the backstory of the proposed WBD sale, WBD execs and their reps repeatedly told the Ellisons they wanted a firm commitment that Larry Ellison — currently the world’s 5th-richest man, with an estimated net worth of $243 billion — would guarantee the deal himself.

Instead, WBD argues, the Ellisons never gave them the assurances they wanted.

The filing does bring up the fact that money from Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds would likely complicate regulatory issues for a proposed Ellison/Paramount deal. (Ditto for a proposed $1 billion investment from China’s Tencent, which the Ellisons later took out of their proposal.) But those are presented as technical hurdles. Not moral or patriotic dealbreakers.

And they’re just part of a laundry list of complaints WBD makes about the Ellisons. Among them: A December 2 tweet from New York Post reporter Charlie Gasparino, which WBD said violated a confidentiality agreement Paramount had signed.

And when it comes to the main pitch WBD is making to investors, all of that stuff disappears. It just boils down to “we did our homework, and the Netflix deal is better.”

That’s not shocking: If you’re a WBD investor, you are (supposedly) only interested in getting the maximum value for shares. And WBD’s filing argues that Netflix is the one that can pay the most.

Now we’re waiting to see what the Ellisons do next: Many observers believe they’ll return with yet another, higher bid. Will this one have Gulf money, too?
