US Central Command released new footage on Wednesday of strikes against some of Iran’s old American-made surveillance and transport military aircraft.
The videos, posted on X, showed a Lockheed C-130 Hercules and a Lockheed P-3F Orion being set ablaze by airstrikes as they were grounded on runways.
It’s unclear when or where the strikes occurred.
The C-130’s frame appears to collapse upon the strike’s impact, with the fuselage separating from its wings in a fireball.
The clips also showed the apparent destruction of an Ilyushin Il-76, a Soviet-designed strategic airlift freighter.

Iran has an aging fleet of C-130E and C-130H transport aircraft, which it acquired from the US before the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Tehran was believed to field about 28 of these turboprop planes, but it’s unclear how many remain after recent strikes on its military assets.
Iran also purchased six P-3F Orion maritime surveillance aircraft before the revolution and was, until recently, believed to still operate five of them. Its air force is also reported to have roughly five IL-76s.
Separate satellite images from Monday obtained by Business Insider also show that several of Iran’s American-made F-14 Tomcat fighter jets — made famous by the film “Top Gun” — were destroyed at an airbase in Isfahan.
The US and Israel have continued to launch strikes against Iran, saying they’ve attacked over 5,500 sites and military assets since February 28.
Many of those strikes targeted Iranian naval vessels, which the US is concerned may threaten the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway that services about a fifth of the world’s oil supply. Over a dozen reported attacks on the strait have reduced its traffic to a crawl, sending oil prices briefly spiking over $100.
President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the war with Iran may end soon and there was “practically nothing left to target” in the country.
“Any time I want it to end, it will end,” he told Axios in a phone call.

Atlassian has cut 1,600 jobs, roughly 10% of its workforce, as it pivots to AI.
CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes addressed employees in a four-minute video explaining the layoffs.
He said he is “deeply sorry for the disruption” the layoff creates in their lives.
Atlassian CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes addressed employees in a four-minute video explaining why the company is laying off about 1,600 workers — roughly 10% of its workforce — as it pivots more aggressively toward AI.
Cannon-Brookes said in a message on the company’s blog that the decision was difficult but necessary as AI reshapes how software companies operate. The shift isn’t simply about cutting costs, he said, but about changing the mix of skills the company needs as it builds products for the AI era.
About 30% of the affected roles are based in Australia. The Australian-American software firm was founded in 2002 by Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar, both of whom are ranked among Australia’s 50 richest people by Forbes.
The layoffs come amid a wider shift across the tech industry as companies restructure for the AI era. Last month, Block slashed nearly half its workforce, citing productivity gains from AI.

New US video footage shows elements of its strikes on Iran, including the launching of missiles and fighters and the destruction of multiple targets.
The footage shared by US Central Command on Saturday shows destroyers firing missiles at sea and carriers launching combat aircraft. It also shows repeated strikes on Iranian military targets. It said its forces are “delivering an overwhelming and unrelenting blow.”
As the President stated, our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime.

It did not specify exactly what was hit, or attribute each attack to the US or Israel, which jointly took part in the operation, dubbed Operation Epic Fury on the American side and Roaring Lion on the Israeli side.
It said the operation, which started Saturday morning, involved precision munitions launched from the air, land, and sea, and said it “involves the largest regional concentration of American military firepower in a generation.”
A US official also told Business Insider that the US launched Tomahawk cruise missiles from warships and that ground forces used the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS. Other weapons were also employed.

The Israel Defense Forces said that it used around 200 fighters in what it described as “the largest military flyover in the history of the Israeli Air Force,” adding that the jets dropped hundreds of munitions “targeting approximately 500 objectives, including aerial defense systems and missile launchers, in a number of locations in Iran, simultaneously.”
Israel has also released footage showing an attack on missile launchers at a remote site in Iran.
US Central Command said attacks were intended to “dismantle the Iranian regime’s security apparatus, prioritizing locations that posed an imminent threat.” President Trump vowed to destroy Iran’s missile program and other military capabilities and said that the aim was for Iran to “never” have a nuclear weapon. He called on Iranian forces to surrender or face “certain death.”

CENTCOM said targets included “Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps command and control facilities, Iranian air defense capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and military airfields.”
Strikes have been reported across Iran, including at military sites and the residence of Iran’s supreme leader. Satellite imagery showed a burning Iranian warship in the aftermath of the initial strikes.
Iranian officials said that at least 85 people were killed at a girls’ elementary school, and the Iranian Red Crescent humanitarian group told the BBC that 201 people had been killed in the country.
After the start of the US and Israeli strikes, Iran launched counterattacks against Israel and against multiple nearby nations, many of which have bases that host US forces and are US allies. Those nations reported many successful interceptions, but also some damage. Details about Iran’s attacks are still emerging, and attacks may continue.
CENTCOM said that its forces had successfully defended against hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks. It said there was damage to US military facilities, but that it was minimal and did not impact operations.
Bahrain said the headquarters of the US Navy’s 5th Fleet, located in the country, was hit by an Iranian missile attack, without giving details on the extent of any damage.
Iran’s strikes also targeted Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Jordan. Some countries reported injuries from falling debris, including Kuwait, which said that three armed forces members had minor injuries from shrapnel from the interception of drones and ballistic missiles. The United Arab Emirates said one person was killed by falling debris in its capital, and four people were injured and taken to the hospital after an incident in a part of the city of Dubai that is known for luxury hotels.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called the US and Israeli strikes “wholly unprovoked, illegal, and illegitimate.” Iran has vowed further action, and Israel has hinted that its actions so far only represent the beginning of its operation. The US has indicated the same.
Flights have been cancelled across the region, and multiple countries have closed their airspaces, resulting in major disruption for what is one of the world’s busiest flight routes.
Savannah Guthrie has made a direct plea to her mother’s potentialabductor: “We will pay.”
In a new, 20-second video posted on her Instagram account on Saturday, Guthrie said her family had received someone’s “message” and were begging for the return of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, 84, who has been reported missing since Sunday.
“We received your message, and we understand,” Guthrie said, sitting betweenher two siblings in the video. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
Guthrie did not identify a specific individual. It’s also unclear what message Guthrie was referring to.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI said in a statement on Friday that they were aware of a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie.

“Investigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity,” the sheriff’s department wrote.
A spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment. An FBI spokesperson said the agency did not have further information to provide.
There have been reports of multiple ransom notes. Federal officials arrested a California man on Thursday, accusing him of sending a fake ransom note to the Guthrie family.
Officials have not identified a suspect but have said that the incident may have involved a kidnapping or abduction.
Guthrie’s mother was last seen at her home located just outside Tucson.
Authorities said blood confirmed to belong to the elder Guthrie was found on the porch, and the doorbell camera had been disconnected, leaving investigators without crucial evidence.
Her daughter, a veteran news anchor of nearly three decades, said that her mother’s health is “fragile” and requires daily medication.
“We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated,” the younger Guthriesaid in a video posted on Wednesday. “We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive, and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us.”
Savannah Guthrie’s brother, Camron Guthrie, has released a new video on behalf of his family, addressing those who may have their mother.
In the new 21-second video uploaded to Savannah’s Instagram page on Thursday, Camron pleads for those responsible “to reach out.”
“This is Camron Guthrie. I’m speaking for the Guthrie family. Whoever is out there holding our mother, we want to hear from you. We haven’t heard anything directly. We need you to reach out, and we need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward,” Camron said.
He then reiterated the family’s request for proof that their mother is in the captor’s custody.
“But first, we have to know that you have our mom. We want to talk to you, and we are waiting for contact,” Camron said.
Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, has been missing since Sunday. She was last seen at her home in Tucson, Arizona. Officials told NBC Nightly News on Monday that they believe she was “taken out of her home against her will.”
The video comes a day after Savannah, Camron, and their sister, Annie, issued a joint plea for their mother’s safe return.
“Everyone is looking for you, Mommy, everywhere. We will not rest. Your children will not rest until we are together again,” Savannah said in Wednesday’s video. “We speak to you every moment. And we pray without ceasing, and we rejoice in advance for the day that we hold you in our arms again. We love you, Mommy.”
In a statement uploaded to the sheriff department’s X account on Wednesday, Nanos said investigators “have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case,” and cautioned the public against “the sharing of unverified accusations or false information.”
On Thursday, the sheriff’s department released a timeline with new details, noting that Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell camera was disconnected and later detected a person, though no video was available. Sheriff Chris Nanos also confirmed that the blood found on the porch belonged to her.
Savannah Guthrie shared a video message on Instagram on Wednesday pleading for her mother’s safe return.
Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, has been missing since Sunday. She was last seen at her home outside Tucson, Arizona. Officials told NBC Nightly News on Monday that they believe she was “taken out of her home against her will.”
Guthrie appeared in the video alongside her siblings, Annie and Camron, and read from a prepared statement — at one point, addressing the people who may have her mother.
“As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated,” Guthrie said.
“We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive, and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us,” she said.
In the nearly four-minute-long video, Guthrie described her mother as a “kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light,” and a person who is “funny, spunky, and clever.”
“Our mom is our heart and our home. She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. She needs it not to suffer,” Guthrie added.
In the closing seconds of the video, Guthrie spoke directly to her mother.
“Everyone is looking for you, Mommy, everywhere. We will not rest. Your children will not rest until we are together again,” she said. “We speak to you every moment. And we pray without ceasing, and we rejoice in advance for the day that we hold you in our arms again. We love you, Mommy.”
Both of Guthrie’s siblings also spoke, with her sister Annie saying she and her siblings are “just normal human people who need our mom.”
“Mama, mama, if you’re listening, we need you to come home. We miss you,” she said.
Near the end of the video, Guthrie’s brother Camron addressed their mother, saying, “We love you, Mom. Stay strong.”
On Wednesday morning, the sheriff’s office told Business Insider that Nancy’s home was “equipped with several cameras,” and that detectives are trying to determine what footage is available.
The FBI is also involved in the investigation.
“The FBI is doing everything in our power to bring Nancy Guthrie home to her family,” Jon Edwards, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI’s office in Tucson, said in a statement at a press conference on Tuesday.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell is facing a DOJ investigation over office renovations.
Powell’s video response sparked a wave of meme-filled jokes online.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly targeted the Fed’s independence.
The internet has a surprising new muse: Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
Powell is famously mild-mannered. About four times a year, he emerges from meetings with Federal Reserve governors and regional bank presidents to hold press conferences on their analysis of jobs data, inflation reports, and subsequent interest rate projections (the infamous “dot plot”).
Not exactly typical fodder for going viral. But on Monday, after Powell released a video saying he’d been subpoenaed by the Justice Department as part of a pressure campaign, he started getting the meme treatment.
“I have deep respect for the rule of law and for accountability in our democracy,” Powell said in Sunday’s two-minute video. “But this unprecedented action should be seen in the broader context of the administration’s threats and ongoing pressure.”
Social media thought it was a banger.
Here are some of the notable reactions so far:
You know things are bad when the most boring person doing the most boring job for decades has to come out and say, “Stop trying to arrest us for doing math” https://t.co/3YCfPBFIae
President Donald Trump has called on Powell, whose term doesn’t end until May 2026, to lower interest rates more quickly. Powell has refused and insisted on the Fed’s independence. Trump has also repeatedly threatened to fire Powell.
The president denied any involvement in the DOJ investigation in an interview with NBC on Monday. “I don’t know anything about it, but he’s certainly not very good at the Fed, and he’s not very good at building buildings,” Trump said.
